What is Young Men of Purpose?
Young Men of Purpose is a mentoring program established in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2001. Since its inception, Young Men of Purpose has been dedicated to providing social and emotional support to students from all racial, economic, social, and academic backgrounds. The Young Men of Purpose program has been successfully implemented in elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide. Young Men of Purpose will empower your students to become positive ambassadors in their school and community.
Young Men of Purpose teaches character through a comprehensive mentoring curriculum and by engaging students in service projects.implemented in elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide.
Young Men of Purpose promotes citizenship by guiding students to manage their lives, make positive choices, overcome obstacles, and develop positive relationships.
Young Men of Purpose supports academics by emphasizing to students the importance of setting goals, scholastic achievement, graduating from high school, and post-secondary pathways.
About the Founder
Roy Dobbs is an award-winning educator and nationally recognized presenter who has served as a middle school teacher, coach, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal in both traditional and alternative school settings. During his more than 20 years of professional experience, Roy Dobbs’ proudest accomplishment has been positively impacting the lives of young men. He resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife, Kristen, and their three children.
